Meet Interfaith’s Director of Development Marie Shimada
Interfaith Association of Northwest Washington is delighted to announce that Marie Shimada has joined the staff as the organization’s first Director of Development.
An experienced fundraiser and law school graduate, Marie brings expertise in grant writing, corporate sponsorships, endowments, capital campaigns, event management and donor relations to Interfaith.
“Marie clearly has a passion for philanthropy and the right experience and skills to go with it,” says Jim Dean, Interfaith’s executive director. “Her many talents will help Interfaith and The Family Shelter reach a new level of impact.”
Marie’s work at Interfaith will include expanding resources to support The Family Shelter program that serves families experiencing homelessness in Snohomish County. Previously, she headed special projects in the Development Department of the Office of External Relations for the University of San Diego School of Law. Her background in non-profit development includes work for the Office of Annual Giving for University of Washington Advancement.
A recent graduate of University of San Diego Law School, Marie also holds a certification in mediation from the National Conflict Resolution Center and a BA from the University of Washington.
“I’m very excited to join the Interfaith family, and I look forward to our growth,” she says.
Friends of Interfaith and The Family Shelter will have the opportunity to meet Marie at upcoming events, including the annual “No Place Like Home” dinner on October 25, 2018. Mark your calendars!
